January

Warm to hot days (often above 30 deg C) cooler nights. Lake surface water temperature 20 -24 deg C.

February

Warm to hot days (often above 28 deg C) cooler nights. Lake surface water temperature 18 -22 deg C. Lake fish very lat int he day.

March

Warm days (often up to 25 deg C) cooler nights. Lake surface water temperature 20 deg C but falling.

April

Surface at sunrise and sunset. Downriggers all day. Leadline 3 colour.

May

Warm days (sometimes to 18 deg C) cool to cold nights. Snow possible. Lake surface water temperature usually below 13 deg C.Lake fishing starting to feed in shallows above weed beds.

Streams now slow. Less insects.

Lake early and late.Some day fishing using Nymphs in rivers.

Mudeyes hard to get. Mostly worm fishing or bardi grubs off bottom.

June

Cool to cold days (often less than 15 deg C) cold nights often below 0 deg C. Often frosts. Snow usually weekly high up in the mountains. Lake surface water temperature below 12 deg C.

July

Cool to cold days (often less than 10 – 14 deg C) cold frosty nights minus temperatures. Snow very possible. Lake surface water temperature below 10 deg C.

Cool to cold days (often less than 10 – 15 deg C) colder nights minus temperatures. Snow very possible. Lake surface water temperature usually under deg C.

October

Lake late evening to nights best. Nymph runs in rivers.

Mudeyes getting better. Worms still good.

Faster runs good, good flow due to snow melt.

Early and late best, still possible to fish all day. 

Surface sunrise and sunset best, leadline  all day 3 -4 colours best.

November

Warm days (often above 20 deg C) cool to cold nights. Snow possible but rare. Lake surface water temperature above 14 deg C.

December
